I don't know if being a Brownie for one year really counts as Girl Scout experience when all I can remember is a nature walk around a few city blocks and blowing a ping pong ball across a table until I was dizzy (addictive to a child like me)! My latest life experience is joining this amazing group in a professional capacity. My quest? I want to be part of the leadership journey in young girls' lives. NOW ... I am a Girl Scout!

Tulsa World Ad
I just sent my first ad to Tulsa World ... this will run New Year's Eve. I had some shuffling to do because one of the key photos needed a press release which we were unable to secure in time. After printing out my options, I was ready to run one that did not have my daughter's photo ... but this is the one the CEO preferred, so not only is my first Oklahoma ad going to press, SO IS MY DAUGHTER! She will be very excited!

I got to see one of our staffers in action today. She's awesome ... it's like a ministry for her. In this particular troop, she embraces girls of all ages who don't necessarily have the resources that many families do. Instead of just a specific age group, they all come just to spend an hour being together with someone who believes in them. Pretty awesome in my book!

Girl Scout Staff Christmas
My first Christmas Party at Magic Empire Council ... and I had to steal to come away with this ornament! (Actually, it was stolen from me first, and I was able to creatively steal it back once another turn had passed ... I'm working on the guilt.) But how cool is that? My first Christmas in Oklahoma (note the date) with Kevin! It's romantic! And considering our "Santa Talks" lately, it's the perfect ornament. Come to find out, Pier 1 has a series of these. They are handpainted from the inside! We may have started a tradition!

Merry Christmas!
Greetings from Girl Scouts are going out to hundreds of donors. It's pretty amazing to see how much people do to benefit young lives here!

A big time Secret Santa thing started here. I participated ... but next year I think I need to be more prepared! They take it seriously!! I've had the most fun things show up on my desk including this wacky bird pen.
